UPDATE – It’s been brought to my attention recently that some of the comments below might have been cases of inaccurate investigation on the part of the commenter. I was prompted to take a look at some of the comments below, and after a couple of hours trawling through DNS records, spam reporting newsgroups and various other sources, I’ve realised that some of the commenters have mistaken falsified email addresses in the spam as being related to the spammers, when in fact the owners of the domains used are in fact guilty of nothing.
I’ve removed comments related to one individual and also to Charming Events, as there is nothing actually linking them to these spammers. -
Please see the new note at the end of this post regarding commenting.
END UPDATE
UPDATE – The spam from these guys does appear to have dried up but I wonder if it’s coincidence or not that the only post on this blog that attracts any comment spam, 100-200 messages a day, is this one.
They all originate from obviously exploited machines in the ranges 194.8.75.255 and 194.8.74.255 and all appear to be generated by the same algorithm.
Lets see how a little reCaptcha helps. – END UPDATE
There’s an apparently well known spamming outfit by the name of Communicado Ltd.
They’ve been sending me a different spam at least once a day, every one coming from a new domain, but in the end when you follow the unsubscribe link you can see that you’re in exactly the same system, and everything has been set up to look like they’re giving you a chance to unsubscribe, but in the end it has no affect.
Well I found the phone number for them in the footer of www.bitesizeseminars.co.uk it’s 01234 481148. Phoning this the phone is answered as Bitesizeseminars, but asking for communicado, and someone that could help remove me from their mailing lists I was told that the person I was talking to could help. She took my domain, typed for a bit, telling me she was searching for it in their lists, and then that she had found it and removed it.
Lets see what happens ![]()

and ask to speak to Phil Sabin personally
We have had loads of emails the last few days from his company. I’ve spoken to the number and explained the problem and the fact that there email says “This email complies with all UK & EU legislation”.
What a load of Tosh!!!!!
The women on the phone at Bitesize sounded very shocked that I was having a go at her but I explained that spam was ruining the Internet and her company wasn’t helping.
I have complained to them before but to no avail. Certainly clicking the “unsubscribe” link in their emails does not have any effect, despite the apparent confirmation.
The St Loyes Street address is only a mailing address as it is one of those Mailbox office units.
Based on their marketing tactics, I would NEVER go on one of their courses, so they really are wasting their time!
Would/Could Trading Standards do anything about them?
Still spamming, inclduing a domain we don’t actively use.
No sure where they get there list from.
Have spoke then a number of timesthey are not intersted.
Adding the company name and domains to our server spam lists.
Im getting spam from these to my NHS domain.
Details I found :

God I hate scammers..
They are still spamming, The latest lists a aclandelra.co.uk domain name but still lists Communicado Ltd, 03709008 Loyes House, St Loyes Street, Bedford MK40 1ZL Tel:01234 481148
in the footer.
Repeated requests to remove us from their mailing lists have failed.
Communicado/Domainhost Ltd/Bytesize/Events Promotions Company still exist unfortunately and they still seem to be the UK’s worst junk mailers: see for example http://groups.google.com/group/news.admin.net-abuse.email/msg/549500ee1cf7b71f.
They use roughly the same hosts for several months, but change the domain names practically daily so that you can’t just block their sender address. The “EU legislation” they refer to is the Privacy & Electronic Communications directive which prevents sending to individual subscribers. So they try to send their crap to your work address instead. It’s still a breach of the network’s acceptable use policy.
I agree with the “give them an earful” approach, not intimidatory but asking them for some consideration to people at work or to behave like human beings and not moronic scum.
Agree with all the above comments. This company should be taken to task by the authorities.
Hi,
Me too sadly but found this when searching the web –>
“Communicado/Bitesize Seminars Dept 21 St Loyes House, 20 St Loyes Street, Bedford, MK40 1ZL http://www.bitesizeseminars.co.uk
Contact: Phil Sabin t : 01525 713239 phil@communicado.biz”
Now am not encouraging anyone to do anything but what is good for the goose must be good for the gander or at least just write to him and ask him to stop.
Worth the giggle I think,
Peter
Just received spam from Communicado Ltd. 03709008 Amphenol Business Complex, Thanet Way, Whitstable, Kent CT5 3JF
They’re still at it, BTW.
I am getting spammed by these guys, every time with a different domain name that always goes back to the same phone number (01227 252222) which when Googled comes up as Saffron Walden / Stansted taxis and offering tickets to a range of events from Murder Mystery weekends to Henley Regatta.
Email also claims: This message is regulated under guidance from the Information Commissioner.
Yup – spam today for Polo Championships through this website … ****://eventsandhospitality.c*m/
The point of the spam/scam is to get money from you, so they want a response, so they include a phone number. It’s much harder to change phone number than domain. Try an Outlook rule that deletes messages containing the phone number text.
I constantly delete about a score of these each working day addressed to world+dog.
I wonder if they’d be so eager to spam if all their unsolicited emails ended up in the inbox of the organisers of the very events they’re trying to promote.
Actually, a pattern-matching spam filter would be able to filter out most of their crap – most of their subject lines either start with 3 dots, or the words “Communicado” or “Domainhost”.
Hi all,
Does anyone receiving this spam have a relationship with Heart Internet? ie. do they host your email or website?
The reason I ask is because I’m getting a lot of this spam too and I’m trying to figure out how my email address has got onto their lists. I’m very careful about guarding my email address and someone has told me that they are in a dispute with Heart over selling their (and their client’s) contact details. I don’t want to defame Heart unnecessarily as they are a great host, but I am a little concerned that this is where the problem lies.
K
I just called the number 01234481148 and said stop spamming me, the guy took my email address and said that from Monday I will get no more emails…..
If I do there must be some kind of harsher punishment out there??
Dave
Communicado, Domain Host, BiteSize, Events Promotion and now a new name Events and Hospitality.com. Domain Host, trading as Events Promotion went into liquidation in Dec ’10 taking our Christmas Party money with them!!! And they are back with a new name just a few months later, absolutely disgutsing!!!!!
Rather than complain to them directly, you’ll get more action if you complain to someone like SPAMCOP. Their anti-spam lists are used by a huge number of mail server administrators, so if they get their IP’s listed on this list they will start to have problems getting their emails delivered in the first place. It also makes the hosting companies they are using sit-up and listen, and to take action. As time goes on it wil get harder and harder for them to send emails, and the more people that complain to spamcop (or other lists) the quicker their host will take action and close their account.
I agree with Paul about reporting to the hosts via SpamCop.net. Or report it to your ISP/email provider and confirm that you have no idea why you are being sent the spam – they may then be able to block it for all their recipients based on the phone number as mentioned above and report it. The spammer may suggest recipients have signed up to something that says “pass my email address to anyone you like for marketing purposes”, so if you know you haven’t make this clear. I don’t think it’s particularly related to Heart Internet, unless you know better. Communicado do also send to random made-up addresses (like admin@domain.org.uk where there is no admin address).
Sorry to hear about losing all that money, Darren. Since they’ve gone into voluntary liquidation, it’s unfortunately unlikely the directors will be disqualified, although you could always contact the insolvency practitioners, BDO Hatfield. (Another of their companies, Britain in Business Ltd has been dissolved, while Bitesize seminars is listed by Companies House as dormant. Communicado Ltd seems the only one that’s active now and its registered address has moved to Mailboxes Etc, 43 Bedford St London WC2E.) The saga continues…
All my communications from Communicado Ltd. are marked as SPAM by my server somewhere and delivered straight into my junk folder.
If you have access to cpanel you can setup a filter there to delete the message so it is not even downloaded. As Ruth says you can setup the same thing in Outlook/Windows mail to move it straight to the junk folder or delete it automaticaly.
Report them to the ICO. Report them to the DMA. Report them to Spamcop and SpamHaus and they will soon be thwarted. Also every email you recieve, complain to the end client so as example, I received one today adverising free solar power from Homesun Ltd. Calling and emailing HOmesun to complain and highlighting that Communicado are damaging their brand will stop them getting repeat business. Hit them hard.
Does anyone have updated informtion regarding Communicado please? Directors names/ telephone contact details for example as I also receive daily emails from this company and my intention is to pursue them thdough the courts.Forget to mention earlier that the unsolicited emails are being sent to my personal business email address but as that business is a partnership I have the same status in EC laws as an individual.
We’ve been blocking the text ‘Communicado Ltd’, but have discovered that they’re now using they’re using 0 (zeros) for O in ‘C0MMUNICAD0′
